21 Feb. Finally, I am back to Mangalore. After the exciting and sweetly surprising visit to New Delhi. Though it was only a National Community Radio Sammelan where policies are discussed, the Ministry with many other ministries is present (for various Community Radio reasons!). But turned out to be something special. An award winning performance by our little community Radio SARANG 107.8FM. That is what the eminent, professional, independent jury decided Radio SARANG’s small little Beary Harate to be! It was a great moment! Receiving the award on behalf of Team SARANG, in the august presence of over a hundred community radio broadcasters and many other media professionals!
Well, the last few hours were not as exciting! No one should go through them!
The eternally, could-not-careless Vijay Mallya, decided the award winning excitement is short lived! “He” cancelled the flight! I had no information! Try as hard as you may get, no response! Their IVRS kept on singing its own music (literally!)
Finally, one of the MIB officials had to come to my rescue1 A bureaucrat! He was too good! After I cancelled my ticket, he booked one for me, without any fuss! I had to spend an extra day in Delhi. I spent in ISI.
Got up early morning of 21st Feb, and reached the airport at 4.15 am. Then long wait. From there, it was to Surat – where over the skies, we hovered for over 100 minutes! Aimlessly. We were given to understand that the visibility was poor!
Then to Mumbai. Then to Mangalore! No more Malya!
Hearty Congratulations, for your praiseworthy achievement in the National level.
