5 June.
Under Graduation: Many of the courses are full. BCom, BMM, and BCA are full. No seats available.
In B.A. One batch is full. There are the last few seats left for journalism in the Animation combination.
You still have time to register yourself in BBM, BSc, and other B.A. courses.

11 May. There is a new course at St Aloysius College – Computer Animation. It has become quitea rage with students. Computer Animation as a degree course is offered for the first time in this part of the State. [Though there are quite a few institutes offering diploma/ certificate courses].
St Aloysius offers this course with Journalism in B.A. and with other science subjects in B.Sc. streams.
With the growing presence of animation in films, advertisements, and other news and entertainment media, India is set to rock. And the young generation has plenty of scope in the industry. That is what the youth also have realised. Hence is the rush. To add value to that is journalism! Journalism and animation go hand in hand.
In case, you have not submitted your applications, you can still do – for finalising of admissions will be done after a few more days. Just now only the prospective candidates are set aside. Some with very high percentage are admitted.
9 May. Application for Post Graduate courses are being issued since the last couple of weeks. If you have not secured an application, now is the time. You have to fill them up and register in the office. Some subjects have entrance test – the details of the entrance tests and fee structure are mentioned in the application.
28 April. Applications for Under Graduate courses (BA, BCom, BSc, BCA, BBM, BSW) are available. You can take them from the office.
Or, by post – send a DD for Rs 200/- to the Principal, St Aloysius College, P.B. 720, Mangalore – 575003; Ph. 0824-2449700; 701, with a self-addressed & stamped envelop.

Well, 2nd PUC results (12th or HSC, call it) are expected in the second of May. Keep an eye on them; our admissions to Under Graduate courses begin, immediately.
For UG courses, you need to take TWO basic languages, besides your main course. One is English -compulsory- to all. The other could be French/ Additional English for NRI/ foreign students or ONLY those who have studied that particular language in 11,12th; or an Indian language (Konkani, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Sanskrit – some of them are available only to some disciplines like B.A. – Konkani for example only to B.A.)
And our Post Graduate / Masters course applications will be available next soon – within a few days. Similar procedure is to be followed. But, DD amount will change.

19 Mar. There is much interest and anxiety among the student community over admissions at St Aloysius College (Autonomous).

As for Masters in Mass Communication - The course gets into its second year.

Dear Bhushan,
Thank you for the comment. Prospectus & applications are already out. You can collect them from the office (Rm no. 117).
I am not sure of the fee structure. I suppose you will be able to get it from office.
As per my knowledge, there is no quota for our university & outside university – all are our students. If you have an aptitude (& prove it in the entrance test) and deserve a seat, you should be getting a seat. OK?
Good luck.

I am theresa from kerala, completed my CBSE 12th grade and i took commerce in ma +2 grade and now waiting for ma results.I like to do my undergraduate course in St Aloysius college, for that i would like to know more about admission for Bcom course in this college
By: Theresa on 7 May 2008

Dear Ms Theresa,
admissions to undergraduate courses at St Aloysius have begun soon after the Karnataka SSLC results were declared (last Saturday). I supppose CBSE results would be out towards the end of this year. There is a huge rush for BCom, BBM, BCA etc. You could have -at least- bought an application and submitted with your pre-board marks, instead of waiting for the final results? Just a stray thought.
Usually, there are some CBSE students who manage to get into our college, in spite of their late results! I guess one possibility is what I suggested above.
In any case, in case you intend to drop in this side and check for yourself – nothing like that!
Good luck Theresa!

Thanks a lot for ur kind information.
But i’ve got just one more doubt..is it too late now to order for an application form???
By: Theresa on 15 May 2008
at 9:03 am
is there any possibility in getting an admission if i apply now?
By: Theresa on 15 May 2008
at 9:10 am
Theoretically there is a possibility, because of the different streams and College’s consideratons for such differences. Hence, not tooooo… late to request an application.
Practically, it would depend on how you prove yourself. Eh?

Dear Aziz,
the admissions commence soon after the SSLC results – which should be in April, hopefully. You need to keep yourself updated on Karnataka education (10th) news.
Regarding fees & hostel: it would be nice if you can contact the office – personally. I am not very sure, since I don’t teach in PUC – my area is slightly different – PG in Mass Communication! There is a hostel. It’s very reasonable. food expenses on monthly-shared basis.

Dear Deepa,
Thank you for the comment.
The fees is for the entire year.
Besides this, there COULD be some University registration fees – usually comes up to (roughly) 5,000/- (the High Court recently ruled that Universities should not collect this fees; but our University has not yet sent any information to us.) That you will come to know only after some time.
There won’t be any change in the College fee. OK, Deepa?
