Ugadi Wishes

27 Mar. Ugadi is a special feast in Karnataka. It is a festival of integration: of the pleasant and not so pleasant, of sorroys and joys, of happiness and unhappiness, of sweet and bitter. That is why they call it ‘bevu-bella’:  bitter-sweet. A very practical philosophy of life is in-built in this festival – inviting people to take both the sides of life with equanimity.

The same is celebrated elsewhere under some other names. I wish all of us a very happy Ugadi. May we imbibe the spirit of Ugadi and accept -both- joys and sorrows of life. That can help us overcome greed, jealousy, ill feeling towards others… May life be a good blend of this spirit!
