The Hindu Editor  Malini Parthasarathy Resigns

One more down at The Hindu, India’s premier news daily. We are yet to know what trasnpired between Malini and the other “tough” decision-makers.
I am not a big fan of Malini. It’s all in the family. But regular changes are not a good thing for good newspaper.
The Hindu has had four editors in the last five years – beginning with N. Ram, Siddhartha Varadarajan (the first “professional Editor” among a bevy of ‘family editors’ or ‘editors by default’), N. Ravi, and then Malini Parthasarathy.
In the night of 4th-5th January, the news of Malini’s resignation has been tending on twitter.
Here is the official announcement on The Hindu.

Malini Parthasarathy has resigned as Editor of The Hindu with immediate effect. Suresh Nambath, National Editor, The Hindu, has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing the news and edit
